Earner protection
List your agricultural equipment with confidence. ShareLlama helps protect Earners when verified damage occurs during an approved rental.
Through security deposits, structured photo documentation, and our Equipment Protection Fund, Earners have support when damage costs cannot be fully recovered from a Finder.
ShareLlama Equipment Protection Fund
This page summarises how protection works for Earners who list agricultural and farm equipment on ShareLlama. For full terms, see our Rental Agreement, Damages and Disputes Policy, and Privacy Policy.
Am I covered?
- Eligible agricultural equipment listed on ShareLlama may qualify for protection when verified damage occurs during an approved booking period, subject to platform policy and eligibility requirements.
- Damage costs are assessed against the booking security depo sit first. If the deposit does not cover the full verified amount, the Earner may be eligible for payment from the Equipment Protection Fund.
What's covered
- Verified repair or replacement costs for damage that occurred during the rental period, up to applicable coverage limits.
- Approved claims where security deposit recovery is insufficient or unavailable.
- Dispute review supported by listing, pickup, and return reference photos plus AI-assisted image comparison.
What's not covered
- Mechanical or electrical breakdown not caused during the rental
- Pre-existing damage, wear and tear, or inherent defects
- Damage that cannot be shown to have occurred during the rental period
- Injury to people or damage to property caused by equipment use
- Non-agricultural items, hazardous materials, weapons, or categories excluded by platform policy
- Lost income, late returns, or consequential business losses

ShareLlama is built for agricultural equipment rentals. Whether you list equipment as an Earner or rent as a Finder, structured photos and dispute review help keep rentals fair and accountable.
How to raise a damage claim
Follow these four steps if equipment is returned damaged, lost, or not as agreed.

1. Listing reference photos
Upload four reference photos (Front, Left, Right, Back) when listing your equipment. These establish the baseline condition before any rental.

2. Pickup and return photos
The Finder uploads four reference photos at pickup and return. These document equipment condition at the start and end of the rental period.

3. File a dispute
Submit a claim within 48 hours of return through your booking dispute flow or email support@sharellama.co.us. Do not post claim details publicly before the review is complete.

4. Provide documents
Upload supporting documents with your dispute, such as:
- itemised damage breakdown;
- repair estimates or invoices;
- proof of equipment value;
- serial numbers or identification details.
