ShareLlama is an online rental marketplace for agricultural and farm equipment. The platform connects lenders who list equipment with borrowers who request bookings to rent that equipment (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy applies to anyone who registers for, accesses, or uses ShareLlama.

This Privacy Policy describes how ShareLlama collects, uses, stores, and shares Personal Information when you use the Service. "Personal Information" means information that identifies you or could reasonably be linked to you.

By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. ShareLlama may update this policy from time to time. We will post changes on this page and, where appropriate, notify you through the platform. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

For account registration, ShareLlama may use a verification process (such as email confirmation) before your account is fully activated. If registration is not completed, associated data may be removed from our systems.

When you register or use ShareLlama, we may collect Personal Information including, but not limited to:

• date of birth (where required);
• postal or service address (for pickup, delivery, or listing location);
• phone number (if you provide it);
• profile picture and profile information;
• listing details, equipment photos, and booking-related information;
• messages sent through the platform;
• hashed passwords;
• IP address and device or browser information; and
• other information you choose to provide when using the Service.

We use Stripe to process payments. Payment card details are handled by Stripe in accordance with Stripe's Privacy Policy. ShareLlama does not store your full payment card number.

We collect Personal Information when you visit our website, create an account, list equipment, request or manage bookings, communicate with other users, or contact support.

To improve the Service, we may collect information about how you use ShareLlama, including searches, listing views, booking activity, ratings or feedback, and interactions with platform features.

We only collect data that is necessary:

• to operate and provide the Service;
• to perform a contract to which you are a party;
• where you have given consent; and/or
• to comply with a legal obligation.

We automatically collect certain technical information from your device when you use the platform, such as session data, IP address, browser type, and referring pages. We use this information to secure the platform, prevent fraud, personalize your experience, and improve ShareLlama for all users.

Using Personal Information

ShareLlama may use your Personal Information to:

• provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
• facilitate listings, bookings, payments, and communications between users;
• send service-related notices, security alerts, and support responses;
• send marketing or promotional messages where permitted and where you have not opted out;
• detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, or policy violations;
• enforce our terms and protect the rights and safety of ShareLlama and its users; and

You may receive marketing messages from us if you have opted in, if you have requested information from us, or if applicable law allows and you have not opted out.

We share Personal Information with service providers who help us operate the Service, such as hosting providers, payment processors (including Stripe), email and notification providers, analytics providers, and customer support tools. These providers process data on our behalf and only as needed to perform their services.

We may share limited information with other users when required for a booking (for example, name and contact or location details needed for pickup or delivery).

We may disclose information if required by law, to respond to lawful requests, to protect our rights or the safety of users, or to investigate suspected fraud or misuse of the platform.

Where required by applicable law, we will seek your consent before sharing your Personal Information with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We do not sell your Personal Information to third-party marketing companies.

Storage of Personal Information

Personal Information is stored and processed using secure third-party cloud infrastructure (including AWS). Some service providers may process data in countries other than your own. By using the Service, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred and processed in those locations.

We retain Personal Information only as long as needed to provide the Service, meet legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When determining retention periods, we consider the nature and sensitivity of the data, the purposes of processing, and applicable legal requirements.

After you close your account, we may retain certain information where necessary for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal compliance.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your Personal Information, or to request a copy of your data in a portable format.

Age Restriction

The Service is not intended for anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected Personal Information from someone under 18, we will take steps to delete it.
