This Damages and Disputes Policy applies to rentals of agricultural and farm equipment booked through ShareLlama. It should be read together with our Rental Agreement, Cancellations and Refund Policy, and Privacy Policy.
ShareLlama connects Earners (users who list equipment) and Finders (users who rent equipment). This policy explains how equipment condition is documented, how damage claims are filed, and how disputes are reviewed and resolved.
To help prevent and resolve damage disputes, ShareLlama uses a structured photo workflow with four reference views: Front, Left, Right, and Back.
All parties should inspect equipment carefully at pickup and return. Finders should verify safety and operating condition before use. Incomplete or missing photos may delay or affect dispute resolution.
When a damage dispute is filed, ShareLlama uses automated image comparison to review listing, pickup, and return photos. The system generates an AI report highlighting differences in equipment condition between the documented stages of the rental.
AI analysis assists our review process but does not, by itself, determine the final outcome. All disputes receive human review before a decision is made.
When a dispute is submitted, ShareLlama's admin team will:
Possible outcomes may include:
Where a security deposit applies to a booking, damage costs are assessed against the deposit first. If the deposit covers the verified damage amount, the Earner receives payment from the deposit in accordance with the dispute outcome.
If verified damage costs exceed the security deposit, or cannot be fully recovered from the Finder, the Earner may be eligible for coverage under ShareLlama's Equipment Protection Fund, subject to eligibility requirements and the Listing Protection terms in our Rental Agreement.
The Equipment Protection Fund is designed to help Earners recover approved damage costs that are not covered by the security deposit or Finder payment. Coverage limits, exclusions, and eligibility criteria are defined in platform policies and may be updated from time to time.
If equipment is substantially different from the listing, damaged before pickup, or not fit for safe use, the Finder should report it promptly through the dispute process or by emailing support@sharellama.co.us. ShareLlama may issue a refund or other remedy where the issue is verified. Repeated inaccurate listings by an Earner may result in penalties or account restrictions.
Submitting false, misleading, or fraudulent dispute claims is prohibited. ShareLlama may deny claims, suspend accounts, recover amounts paid, and take further action where misuse is identified.
Users may be restricted on the Platform for violations of this policy or our community standards, including but not limited to:
Restricted users may lose access to some or all Platform features. Restrictions may be lifted once a dispute is resolved and ShareLlama approves reinstatement. Requests can be sent to support@sharellama.co.us.
